Vespera once commanded awe as the supreme Dragon Sovereign, but now she scrubs pots in a palace kitchen, masking her identity to shield a daughter whose unstable magic marks her for death. Arrogant paladins kick her, douse her with swill, and sneer insults, yet she swallows every humiliation, knowing retaliation would expose the child. The fragile peace shatters when the High Inquisitor lifts his blade for a blood sacrifice, and the dormant power Vespera buried erupts in a fury that could shatter the heavens.
