Leonardo's mismatched eyes and shattered horns mark him as defective to his antelope herd, so they abandon him in the wild. The last dragon, Gareth, swoops down and carries him off to a cavern stuffed with centuries of gems, yet the beast refuses to eat him. Instead, Gareth treats Leonardo like the crown jewel of his collection, prizing his gaze above every glittering stone. Panther raiders and professional Dragon Slayers now tighten a ring around the lair, forcing the outcast to decide whether he will remain the prey he was born as or turn into the one thing a dragon would incinerate the world to keep.
