Victoria once ruled the Galactic Empire until an Insectoid assault wiped her memory and dumped her on a wasteland planet. She rebuilt a quiet life as Lyra, picking through debris to survive. That routine shatters when Leo, son of Imperial Marshal Alexander, tracks her down insisting she is his mother. Alexander whisks them to the capital, planning to parade Lyra as a stand-in for the vanished monarch. Meanwhile, courtier Selena has stolen credit for Victoria's final victory over the Insectoids and now moves to bury the only living witness. The marshal sees a convenient double; he does not realize the scavenger before him is the real Queen Victoria.
