Seventeen-year-old Kara secures a seat on a one-way trip to Mars, yet she quietly enrolls in a regular high school to tick off a private bucket list before departure. She treats hallways and cafeterias as controlled variables, but the social ecosystem runs on impulse and rumor, defying every predictive model she builds. The biggest anomaly arrives on skates: a bruising hockey enforcer whose volatility shatters her carefully coded expectations and forces her to navigate feelings no simulation prepared her for.
